"Dearest Me Again" is a hit vocal past English language singer John Newman. The song was released every bit a digital download in Europe on 17 May 2013, except for the United Kingdom where it was released on xxx June 2013 as the pb single from his debut studio album, Tribute (2013). The song was written by Newman and Steve Booker and produced by Booker and Mike Spencer. The song was later featured on the soundtrack for video game FIFA 14.

Groundwork [edit]

In an interview with Digital Spy, Newman was asked if he sensed that the song had something special most it in the studio. He said, "Yeah. The guy I wrote information technology with (Steve Booker), we turned around and had massive grins on our faces thinking, 'There's something good here'. Just yous just never know how skilful it is, you know?".

Newman was also asked if it was hard to write the lyrics near beloved and break-upwardly, he said, "No, it's the only place where I actually open up upwardly to somebody, through my music. I'yard producing [the album] and writing it, information technology's expert. I like to keep a agree of everything".^[2]

With the chord progression of Gm—Bb—Dm—C, the song is written in the central of G Dorian. The primal signature is in D modest. Both are modes of F major, of which either one can be used as the tonic note/chord, considering, however, the F major chord is not present in the vocal.^[3]

Music video [edit]

Two music videos, both with elements of Northern soul dancing, accept been released for "Love Me Again". One version^[iv] directed by Vaughan Arnell is based on the classic love story of Romeo and Juliet.^[5] The woman in the video, Juliet, is French actress Margaux Billard, carefully watched over by her brother, Tybalt, played by Joseph Steyne. The Romeo, is British model Tommy-Lee Winkworth. This video ends in a bewilderment as they go run over by a truck and their fate remains unknown till Newman'southward follow-up unmarried "Adulterous", which starts with a newspaper article indicating that they had indeed survived the crash, which was a hit-and-run blow.

Some other version features Newman, backed by musicians, singing in a dimly lit room.^[6]

In popular culture [edit]

"Love Me Again" was featured on the soundtrack of video game FIFA 14,^[eight] giving it a cult status amid FIFA fans, as well equally the Federation's #WorldCupAtHome series, which opened FIFA's archive during the COVID-19 pandemic. Information technology also appeared in the closing credits of the 2014 science fiction film, Border of Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. The song was also featured on the American TV series, Suits in the episode, "Buried Secrets", which aired on 6 March 2014, and in the opening scenes of the first episode of flavour iv, "I-Ii-Three Go", which aired xi June 2014. "Beloved Me Once more" is too a playable song in Just Dance 2015. The song was also used as the theme to the television prove Whiskey Cavalier which debuted in February 2019 and concluded in May after ane season.^[nine] In Baronial 2020 and May 2021 it was used in TV and radio adverts for National Rails.

The French channel TF6 also used this song to shutdown its channel.
